My Hearts Hope

My Hearts Hope There's a hairline fracture in my heart That divides my heart in two One half is the painful side Forever hurt and blue The other half is full of hope And belief that love is real It helps me forget my painful part It prods me to believe and heal That broken half has forgotten It only remembers the pain It bleeds and aches in spasms In fear of being hurt again Some broken hearts never truly mend But there's one thing I know for sure A broken heart that mends can't be broken again It's too strong as love is the cure Betty Ladd 2/25/2022

Dear Betty, you wrote a wonderful poem here and I really enjoyed reading this. I really appreciate you putting time and effort for submitting this poem in my contest but unfortunately I can't award it any position. Poetrysoup is very clear in its contest instructions that no poet should put his/her name below the poem and I have to follow these instructions while judging the contests. Kind regards
