My Heart Takes Off

I've never read a baseball sonnet
Nor thrown a curve with mustard on it

Yet when the umpire shouts 'Play Ball'
My heart takes off like a rising fastball

Now that I've read my first baseball couplet / I still don't know which team is up yet (sorry, bad rhyme) Loved your baseball tribute, my heart does quite the same thing. Now that you've read a baseball sonnet, I'll go buy you some mustard to put on your next curve! ~ root, root, root for the home team - The Sultan of Watt

Thanks for the tip, ilene! I'm hoping I might see a World Series entry from your fabulous pen in the coming week (let's see, what rhymes with stinking Dodgers?)

Thanks, ilene. And thanks for telling me about John Watt's baseball sonnet. (He told me one was coming soon). ~ Peanuts and Crackerjacks
