My Heart Needn'T Much

My heart needn’t much – believe it!
It’s only looking for several things;
It dreams to find a kindred spirit
And to fly high on silent wings.

My heart isn’t demanding – it’s true!
It only needs something to be alive:
A few sunbeams to arise anew
And someone dear’s smile to survive.

It needs a tiny speck of someone’s love,
A bit of happiness and a little time
To sit down on a cloud, close to a dove
To write a stanza – or even if a line.

My heart needn’t much – not at all!
Today it spotted you and let out a gasp
Of amazement at the sight of the soul.
Today my heart is within your grasp...
