My Heart Cannot Unlove You

the winter snow has drifted, each flake reminds me of you- through memories I have sifted, and I thought I'd be uplifted, but my yellow skies turned to blue, for my heart cannot unlove you. when raindrops linger through air, each drip is at ease yet sad- for you were supposed to care, and always be there... now this cascade has made me mad, for I cannot unlove what we had. my love for you is like a reverie, each streamlet reminds me of you- I still wonder why I just couldn't see, all the moments you longed to be free, with hope residing inside a memory, awaiting dreams to come true- for my heart cannot unlove you. Dear LL It is a lovely piece of writing "I still wonder why I just couldn't see, all the moments you longed to be free, with hope residing inside a memory, awaiting dreams to come true- for my heart cannot unlove you."

Beautifully written Laura. You've expressed the essence of lost love well. Your third verse summed it up.
