My Guardian Angel
Angelic kindness touched me today
The nascent time I've been rotting away
I endured years of remorse and shame
Yet angels freed me to flee with my tame
I wept in his sight and sought forgiveness
I opened the door to invite him as a witness
I was met by the angel with an auspicious—gaze
"It's been a while." and hugged me with paise
He assured me that all would be all right
You won't need to cry to sleep at twilight.
All those nights ago, you were utterly scared
I was your healer, yet you weren't prepared
He said, "I have loved you since time began."
A grateful tone throughout my chest ran
When loss, despair, and terror swirl in the air
You only need to approach me through prayer.
