My Greatest Wish This Christmas

My greatest wish this Christmas
Is not for falling snow,
Millions of shining lights,
Or even Mistletoe.
My greatest wish this Christmas
Is Christ’s love for you;
The greatest Christmas gift,
Your life, Christ to renew.

My greatest wish this Christmas
Is that you’ll ask Him into your heart,
Don’t just read about him,
But find His power to impart.
That you’ll be filled with love,
Peace and joy from on high.
My greatest wish this Christmas
Is that on our Lord, you’ll rely.

My greatest wish this Christmas
Is that He’ll set you free
From anything that binds you—
His freedom’s wonderful, you’ll agree.
It’s the greatest gift of Christmas
That any soul can seek;
For no earthly gifts,
Surpass that babe so meek.

My greatest wish this Christmas
Is that you’ll seek His face
You will live forever more,
Because His love you embrace.
My greatest wish this Christmas
Is that He makes you white,
Not because it’s snowing,
But with righteousness so bright.
My greatest wish this Christmas
Is to be with you in heaven—
Neighbors in the new earth,
Because to Him, your heart is given.
