My Greatest Accomplishment

My Greatest Accomplishment

My blood runs through your veins

And we share the same middle name

And from the moment you were conceived

A miracle of love was achieved

From your blue eyes that matches mine

A bond was created in little time

Rosy cheeks and strawberry hair

A miniature me was laying there

Your quavering lips matched my heart

As we both made a brand new start

Never had I experienced such incredible love

My prayers were answered from God above

This precious child was mine to keep

An honor to rock him to sleep

And a thought occurred to my mind

What a responsibility was suddenly mine

Many years later, I still feel the same

I’m so very proud to share my last name

With this little boy, who now was grown

Into my greatest accomplishment, I call my own
