My Goodbye

I'm here now in an unwanted place
The place of reflective sentiment
No hiding it's written on my face
And there is no sign of resentment

Here it comes....it's the hurtful goodbye
Goodbyes are meant to be remembered
I wish there was more time to buy
But there is no time left to be surrendered

Just remembrance of beautiful moments
We shared in happiness and in sadness
But that was a small part of this component
With even elements of complete madness

But you were the reason it was worthwhile
It was your smile that kept me in this
The reason I strived for that extra mile
Because in your happiness, I found bliss

You were so beautiful in so many ways
Though you would deny it to the end
Even when I was lost in just your gaze
You were always more than just a friend

And a friend who I will miss so dearly
With your absence too difficult to bear
And it's destroying me so severely
But there is no way for you to hear

To hear this heartfelt, hurtful goodbye
Because you never gave me the chance
Your death left me with absolutely no reply
My tears are the goodbye in this circumstance
