My God

My eyes may never comprehend
The beauty, the glory, of this friend
He is the way, the truth, the life
While I may fear, He heals all strife

My ears may never believe such grace
Oh, dear Jesus – I need to see your face
He is the One who answers my prayers
I haven’t a doubt that He truly cares

My tongue may sing His praises in song
While my soul listens – His love is never wrong
He is the music in each wind, sea or sun
Because of Him, I am seeking – grace has won

My skin trembles, goosebumps who recall
The love that is forever, love for one and all
He is the wonder in each wonderful verse
When I let Him, He reverses every curse

My heart believes in the One who is love
The miracle of heaven, born from God above
He is the reason I can know sweetest hope
With Him beside me, I am sure I can cope

My spirit is encouraged by His unending grace
Without a doubt, He offers faith time can’t erase
He gives my life purpose, reminding me I’m His child
Even when I feel doubtful, on my soul He smiled

My faith is in a King who will ever be the light
Even when the devil tells me I’ll not escape the night
He offers me a promise – when I let go of my pride
He is there to give me grace that will always abide
