My Gift To Humanity
Here's my gift to Humanity...
words written with sincerity;
open the pages of this hard-cover book,
and realize all the hard labor it took.
Long nights spent writing, instead of sleeping...
I did not seek the help of a faceless muse;
wounds healed without leaving a bruise,
all I composed was real and full of feeling.
Laugh if my rhymes aren't perfect...
criticize the way I express myself;
even the greatest poet had some defect,
so why not read my work and learn this craft?
Nothing I create is worthless as I deem it...
readers have their own perception of how I say it;
who would like to listen to this new lyric of mine?
Come to my stage, and I will recite a great line!
