My Friend the Forest

Is there room for me
Outside your door
With leafy roof
and grassy floor

A subtle breeze
A star for light
Good company
throughout the night

Then count me in
To visit thee
and lie in bliss
Beneath thy tree

Wow! Jerry. This one is great. Short but very profound. There is an honesty and flow that reaches in and grabs the heart. Singing with nature, that is what you have done, my friend.... Robert.

I've read many of your entries here on Poetry Soup, Jerry, and I must say: You sir are a gifted poet ... and rhyming poetry is my absolute favorite. I believe you to be a master at it. I'll be reading all your works. Jack C.
