My Friend

He had no where else to turn as he was brought to his knees
What he wasn't able to discern he would never be able to seize
Looking up into the deep blue sky he finally began in calling out
But so untiring in asking why still sitting in that puddle of doubt

But he did finally call out His Name such a large step to take
One who was being filled with shame until just about to break
So filled with worry and fear it would keep him up all night long
If the Lord is not near then no one should expect to be so strong

But only this one step need be taken for the toughest is the first
For that is when the soul will awaken in soothing that great thirst
That is when it all begins to start and some things begin to show
But mainly it begins in your heart for of this you will surely know

From one who would often swear having no respect for His Name
One whom I never thought would care and had no sense of shame
Well that's not him anymore though we all do have a long way to go
In this Spirit he's going to soar as this being something I already know

I enjoyed your poem. I remember that day when I found the Way. I've never been the same.

That is great to hear John. Faith is the greatest gift, for with God all things are possible. Praising Him has really brought me closer and made His responses vividly clear. He also has a wonderful sense of humor, as we are in His likeness.
