My heart leaped for joy when I saw you
Your countenance sang a sweet song
Where you are, the sky is pure and blue
My love for you carries me along
Softly, yet intensely strong and full of might
You bring newness, fresh and crisp delight
Sparkling life, lighted with loves glow
My friend, my precious one I know
You were there to warm my day
You were there to sing a song for me
You were there to show the way
You were there to make me finally see
Astonishing new life, is married to my soul
My friend is what makes my life whole
To me there is victory, fresh and strong
My friend, I found in you a brand new song
