My Friend

I love you, my friend
for your kind, warm heart,
for the songs you sing and the smiles you bring

I love you, my friend
for your compassionate soul,
for the shoulder you've lent and the ear I've bent

I love you, my friend
for your belief in me,
for the tender touch, that you've shared so much

I love you, my friend
for your strength and faith,
for the grace you show when the wind does blow

I love you, my friend
as you've loved me,
for all you are, for all you'll be
