My Forever Shining Star

All the oceans in this world 
Could never hold my tears
Nothing here can take away
The silence you left here

I still wake and reach for you
I can’t believe its true
I never wanted memories
I only wanted you

I miss the little things you'd say
The comfort in your touch
The way you'd light the darkest days
When life became too much 

I miss you every morning
Every night and every day
I’d give all my tomorrows
For just one more yesterday

You were my reason to believe 
My shelter from the storm
My hopes, my dreams my everything 
The place my heart felt warm 

Though the world keeps turning on
I'm lost without your spark 
You're still my forever shining star 
Lighting up the dark 

When they asked what words I want 
Engraved upon your stone
The only words my heart could find
Were ‘darling please come home’

You were my every reason
My hopes and all my dreams
Someone to believe in
When I questioned what life means

Always there to guide me
My forever shining star
I’d give my all to have you here
Or be there where you are

In a world of endless change
It’s the soul that never dies
In a crowd of strangers 
Still I see you in my eyes

This pain will never go away 
My shattered heart wont mend
Lonely days and empty nights 
Are now my only friend

But if you’re looking down from Heaven 
Watching over me
I hope you see the love you left
Still shaping who I'll be

And though this pain may never fade
And time can't make it far 
Your light will always guide my way
My forever shining star...
