My Favourite Word
MY FAVOURITE WORD
They asked me what’s my favourite word
And how I’d like to use it.
But with a million words out there,
I don’t’ know how to choose it.
Our language is so colourful,
Where nuances abound.
Should I choose my word by meaning,
Or the beauty of the sound?
I opened my thesaurus and, starting at the A’s,
I sifted through to see what might be best.
Surely somewhere in that weighty tome,
I’d find a word that stood out from the rest.
I went from A right through to L
But nothing special could I see.
And then I found it in the M’s.
My favourite word, of course, is ME
