My Father Doesn'T Like Tomatoes

My father doesn't like to eat tomatoes
I don't know if it's texture, size or taste
Personally I love to eat tomatoes
and help myself to any on his plate

At one point I forgot he hates tomatoes
and can't describe the pain inside my heart
when reminded that he doesn't like tomatoes
I realised just how far we'd drawn apart

I'll never again forget he hates tomatoes
those lovely things of which I'm rather fond
because our mutual like and dislike of tomatoes
is a big part of our father, daughter bond
