My Fantasy
I will always bear the burden of believing in fantasy,
The same fantasy that brought you to me,
The fantasy that it only takes one glance,
The fantasy that it only takes one dance.
Love's complications sugar coated in stories of old,
Love's worth implied to be greater than that of gold,
My sin was to make you more than a person,
And what it did was just make things worsen.
I thought my life would revolve around you,
Foolishly I believed this was obviously true,
I also believed you'd return it to me,
The same love I gave you for free.
It was when you said "No" I knew,
Reality's elusive fine to me finally came due,
I was blindly buried in the pages of fabricated love,
Reality dropped on me like a hammer from above.
