My Family Let Go

I choose to be alone for this seizure.

And ride my panic at my leisure.

There is a dizziness I associate with sleep.

The reflection in these shadows is all I can keep.

My family I have been denied.

All I’ve been allowed is shelter where I am forced to abide.

As my patience somehow grows.

And so do the whispers in my toes.

From the loving world I chose to resign.

And commit myself to this never ending tide.

Soon, I am shivering from these throes.

But I still smile with delusion, as if my family is close.
