My Early Days Upon This Earth
My early days upon this earth
was filled with questions and disquiet
not knowing where would I end up
perplexed mixed up my mind felt on a diet
These days lasted a whole six weeks
in that time all uncertain full of doubt
feeling unloved, unwanted and all forsaken
thinking what is this world all about?
After birth is given up by my earth Mother
I was taken to church children's home
all in the hope that I would be adopted
but nothing was sure did even have a comb?
Thinking back now can't remember much
of the time there but I must have been
anxious, nervous, fearful since then I stammer
maybe these days caused made tongue unclean
But thankfully I was adopted at six weeks
taken by a couple with no kids in Ayrshire
now looking back over all these years
thanks to God providentially saved from the mire
