My Driver's License

Before it expires in April,
I thought I would get it renewed.
I made an appointment and filled out the form
Which the motor club people reviewed.

The eye test, one line, was real easy;
I smiled for the photo, then paid.
It will come in the mail’s what they told me,
But I saw the receipt, which displayed

When the new license next will expire –
The year plainly said ’34,
Which I laughed at, for those with my papers
Were certainly not keeping score!
