My Dream Was In An Id

My dream was in an ID,
in a year, a date.
My dream was adding ten and eight.
My dream was woman.
Becoming one.
Or saying something, and someone listens for once.
But 18 doesn't mean they suddenly grow ears,
or your fears disappear.
18 doesn't suddenly make you strong enough to speak up and speak out.
You don't have to be 18 to get up when you're knocked down.
18 doesn't make you free.
Come to find out

I'm just as free as I let myself be.
