My Dream
Violet elephant with the enormous empathetic blue eyes
Woke me up landing on my stomach with a whomp! No big surprise.
I don’t have time to play today I say but the tiger gives a roar.
So I pay attention to both of them, into space we quickly soar.
This tiger is a bit different than the others that were sent.
Has pointy teeth, but his stripes are red, and white, and he has a dent.
There is an arrow shaft sticking out of the left side of his head.
If this was any other tiger, I’m pretty sure he would be dead.
We want marshmallow rice Krispy treats, Gerk the elephant says.
Pretty sure I am out of marshmallows, I thump him on his fez.
When did you steal that Shriner’s hat? I ask him with concern.
The tiger gives my foot a bite, a punishment to make me learn.
