My Doll

MY DOLL - A POEM Waiting behind the closed doors My dearest smiles at me My tired soul lights up again I hold my doll with glee ‘Dolls’ for kids’, teases this world My Doll cries or laughs with me With it, can I ever get old Mind filled with guilt as I keep My Doll homebound My Doll never complains or cribs For me, my Doll is always around Friends or kin come and go Down in the dumps, I find solace in my Doll, makes me forget my woes
