MY DIVORCE LETTER

"MY LETTER FOR DIVORCE"
By Austin Fwasan Maseko

Papers signed, the ink is dry
A chapter closed, with a goodbye
Memories linger, like shadows at night
A love that's lost, in the fading light

The vows we took, now broken threads
Promises whispered, in a love that's dead
Grief and relief, a mixed-up pain
A new path unfolds, with steps unsure to gain

You were my once, my planned future too
Now just a memory, with "what ifs" in view
The house feels empty, like a hollow sound
But life moves forward, on unfamiliar ground

Letting go's hard, like holding on tight
But in the silence, I find my new light
A divorce is not a failure's mark
It's a new beginning, in life's uncertain spark

I replay the past, with its joy and strife
Moments we shared, now a bittersweet life
The laughter echoes, the tears we've cried
A relationship ends, but life doesn't die

I'm learning to breathe, in this space alone
Rediscovering me, like a name unknown
Filling the void, with pieces of my own
Finding strength in the fragments, like seeds sown

The future's a canvas, with colors pale
A new story writes, with pages to unveil
Scars will fade slow, like shadows at dawn
But in the healing, I'll find my way back home
