My Diabetes

My Diabetes
Getting Type 1 Diabetes has changed my life.
It often gives me lots of grief and lots of strife.
How I wish I could give it a way,
But come what may, it is here to stay.
Four shots a day of insulin I give.
Without these I have no chance to live.
Daily tests I have to do,
And the HBA1C is the one I need for my annual review.
Then come the 3 monthly doctor visits,
Sometimes long, but often last minutes.
Eyesight is a big thing for me.
Going blind would mean I cannot see.
Type 1 Diabetes was not by choice,
And although I have it I can add my voice,
To find a cure for everyone of course.

Oh, not a fun, Carol! I'm hoping for a cure, I know others who have this. It's so complex and complicated...too much of something or too little...happy to know that you are keeping tabs on your blood sugar levels...honestly, that's your greatest feat! I'm sure everything will work out for you! Merry Christmas and a Happy Healthy New Year!!!!! Mikki
