My Dear Aunt Stella

Dear Aunt Stelle, it’s nice to see you again,
Here among all of your family and friends;
Some of whom you haven’t seen in years,
Others with whom you share daily laughs and tears.

We’ve all come together from near and far
To celebrate the meaning of whom you are.
You’re an aunt, a grandma, and a mother,
And a very close friend to many others.

The person you’ve spent your life to become
Has meant a lot to many, not just some.
On this day, we gather to celebrate
What it means to have a heart so great.

So, look around you and know that you’re loved
By everyone here, and from those up above.
Our lives are better for having known you
And those we’ve touched are a part of you, too.
