My Cross To Bare

Father God, as I lay down to sleep,
the thoughts of all your goodness, let me keep.
If I was to dream, Lord, let it be of you,
as you show me, those things which be true.
Let me not be ashamed, in what I do believe,
but in humbleness, the way that I receive.
Open my perception, the window of my eyes,
the understanding of my heart, as I search for the why’s.
Help me keep my heart fixed on you, I pray,
as I thank you for getting me through this day.
Bless me with a restful sleep, keep me in your care,
and keep reminding me Lord, it’s not my cross to bear.
