Author's Notes:  "My Christmas Dream," is a another verse write that I wrote, this time to reflect on a dream I have during this Christmas season for a more peaceful and calm world (naive as that may sound).  I touch on the importance of all of this to the world we all live in today in this new twenty-first century which is beset with all sorts of challenges that directly affect mankind on multiple fronts.  The human race needs to stay out in front of all of the problems affecting our life here on Earth.  It would be good too for all of us to remember that we are all part of God's Divine Plan in the greater scheme of things.  How we treat our home Earth and the other living organisms on it (to include "the climate") will decide just how long the human race remains and survives on this planet. In spite of all of this, Merry Christmas!! -- and let's hope for renewed hope and promise during 2015.  (Gary Bateman - December 11, 2014) (Verse)

My Christmas Dream is for a More peaceful and calm world For all of mankind as the clock Of the twenty-first century ticks Away before us and all of us seek To meet the many daily challenges And travails of life that impact us And the planet we all live on since The Earth is our very home for the Entire human race, animals, insects, And all of the varieties of sea creatures And wondrous plant life that grows And flourishes as part of God’s most Divine Plan which is certainly worth Our attention and desire to address Our shortfalls and shortcomings in Making sure that the Earth and all of Mankind are compatible and we can Meet the destiny and final glory that God has planned for all of us—Amen Gary Bateman, Copyright © All Rights Reserved (December 11, 2014) (Verse)

Keep dreaming, Gary! ;-) Still, a worthy and well-written sentiment.

Hello Tom, Thanks for your note here. I re-read this one here myself since it's one of my earlier poems. I do agree for sure, it's a most worth sentiment, but it does appear that mankind as well all know it today seems to always come up short in meeting divine expectations. I guess the best we can do is to keep trying. Have a great weekend!! Cheers, Gary

Beautiful thoughts of peace and love for a better world, Gary! My 7-year-old son told me yesterday when he grows up, he wants to "fight the laws" so no can have a car and "everyone will have to walk". He's learning about global warming and the melting of the glaciers in school. He's very concerned about the polar bears...if we could all think like children, perhaps the world would be a better place! Hugs, Rhonda

Hello Rhonda, Your son is very wise indeed for his young age!! I was born in October 1951 and just recently turned "63," and during all those years I've witnessed some big changes in our world. (It's certainly not the same world I came into all those years ago growing up in Kansas!!) I'm glad I'm writing now and getting my views out to the public. Better to think like children!! Best, Gary

When this old World passes away and we are in our new bodies living in the new Jerusalem, you dream will be far exceeded.

Hello David My Good Friend . . . It did start out as something different, but ended up a prayer in the end. Thanks so much for your words David -- I always value them very much. Speaking of living strong and courageously, coincidentally I just happen to be working another write: " Courageous Above All." It should be making its entrée soon in the Poetry Soup ether. Best Always, Gary
