My Christian Faith

Our freedoms are slowly eroding as each day goes by,
Our government will never be happy till they own the whole pie.
They want us to be loyal servants that never oppose,
Turn a deaf ear or blind eye and accept whatever they propose.

The hate crime takes away from certain things our Bible objects to,
Certain moral issues the Bible condemns they say now are alright for you to do.
How can one fully practice what God commands,
When quoting from the Bible your government has the right to reprimand ?

The Bible has been around longer than our country has and has been our constant guide,
Our forefathers followed its word back before we lost our national pride.
Freedom of religion as long as it’s not Christianity I guess is okay,
At least that is the way it works and looks nowadays.

Christians are still the majority in this land I still hold so dear,
But we seemed to have lost our backbone and I wonder what it is we fear?
Public offices and public schools have banned Gods word and I don’t understand.
Now look at all the killings in schools across our land.

In a way I am glad the years I have left may be only a few,
And I will serve my Lord daily in the things I say and do.
And I will stand up for my country but it will come second to my God,
For His Word is my Comfort, my Staff, and my Rod.

Amen to that brother. It is sad to see the way things are changing but we must take a stand in what we believe. Keep sounding the alarm.

The erosion of values in today's youth doe seem to be tied to a lack of faith as well as the ability to express spiritual beliefs. Our motto used to be "In God We Trust." Who can we trust now? Certainly not our government leaders. I share your angst with the pitiful state of affairs we now are left to behold because we have taken faith out of schools as well as children's lives. Powerful verse, Ronald! Love, Carolyn
