My Childs Pain

If only I could take my child's pain, And see him smile again, Why did this trouble come his way? I can only give him words I say. I wish it was me instead of he, And all this trouble would let him be, I want to take him in my arms, To protect him from these harms. I can barely stand the pain on his face, He feels like it is a discrace, To show weakness and tears, And let anyone see his fears. But I know because he is my son, Since these troubles have begun, There are tears behind those eyes, And he is suffering more than people realize. Please God take away my child's pain, Bring him out of the rain, Give him joy once more in his life, And heal his poor sick wife.

It is the worst feeling to feel helpless when seeing someone in pain. I love your poem, Timothy.
