My Change Of View

Once I saw the world so bright and wide, Adventurous days with friends by my side, We'd chase the highs, stay fly and free, living carelessly, just happy to be.

But then I met you, and everything changed, My world shifted, rearranged. Now I'm lost in a darkened haze, Since the moment you went away.

I lost my best friend, my guiding light, Now I'm drowning in this endless night. Minutes crawl, hours drag by, each moment without you, I silently cry.

I sit here dying, slowly each night, Miserable and alone, out of sight. The worst feeling, this haunting pain, Knowing I'll never see you again.

Alone in this world, I face my fears, As time stretches out, my vision unclear. I used to see life through a vibrant lens, Now it's dimmed, devoid of amends.

This darkness, a flicker remains, fading memories through tear-stained rains. I'll linger here, in this lonely zone, Until I'm reunited with you, my own.

Your poem Change of View, I feel many people can relate -- finding someone who gives your life meaning and then, one day, that person is gone. It is romantic but also sad.
