My Chance

I feel now a new sensation.
It is a surge of strong frustration.
How could I have been so blind?
She's the only one I'll ever find.
I had the chance, but I let her go.
She was perfect, with her eyes aglow.

I swear I'm different; I'm not the same man.
I was shy and without a plan.
It's too late. She walked away.
Love hasn't returned; even to this day.

Realizing the truth is so depressing...
Being alone is not a blessing.
No need for you to be sympathetic.
Plain and simple, I'm pathetic.

I send a message to those who care:
Love takes risks; love takes dare.
Don't give up; don't give in,
Even when compassion grows thin

Never again will I have the chance
To be with her, to watch her dance.
There is nothing left, no feeling or tear.
I have not loved in many a year.
