My Butterfly

Is there anything I could have done so you wouldn’t run from your life to the sky my butterfly What could I have said to keep you from the dead? Was love enough? Or were you fated for it? Your virgin wings were clipped. Was I not right to hold you so tight? I’ll never know, dear. I should have given you anything. Because to me you were everything.
