My Brother Jack

My brother Jack is a funny young lad Always plays the joker and is never sad Gets into scrapes and he's only aged eight As a brother and friend Jack is simply great My brother Jack is really growing up fast Those eight years he was never seemed to last Jack is now eighteen and school is done No longer the joker more serious than fun My brother Jack still visits me when he can Very difficult for him now for he is a family man At twenty eight he has two kiddies and a wife Works so hard as he tries to get through life My brother Jack died suddenly one day Thirty eight years is no age to be taken away Thirty years ago we didn't have a worry or care Taken so soon Jack life certainly ain't fair

Aw, how true, Kieran. I'm so sorry you lost the brother you obviously loved very much. Yes, awfully young. This is a fine poem...a tribute done up in couplets.
