My Brother

It only takes a true man brother,
To see the hand beyond the color,
The truly fake still reach and grab,
With hearts on stakes like a dead man's slab...
Deceiving cuz they never say,
Believing they don't think that way,
But truth's the fly up on the wall,
That heard my name and what I'm called...
Not the name I got at birth,
Not the same as I am worth,
But I still will call his name,
As his mother gave the same...
I look upon him with his eyes,
So he can see the hate inside,
And pray there is a soul in need,
Not just flesh with poison seeds...
But I am the better man,
And when he falls I take his hand,
Since he's blind and cannot see,
The parts of him I have in me...

We are having our first laying snowfall this morning in Springfield,Ohio. December 1,2010 what a way to enter this month. It is absolutely beautiful and finds me in good spirits. I have enjoyed reading your poetry this morning Terrence. Looking forward to reading more. Have a wonderful day. Love, Carol
