my blue dictionary

I am taunted by my smug blue dictionary every day
she cajoles and teases me until I give in, allowing her way
her ready whispers and suggestions, give me rich new words
she happily spits out adjectives and curly enticing verbs

new information taps out a tune on my head
I read six more pages before I retire to bed.
I wake up in the morning and reach out for her
Like an eager kitty, she gives me a bit of a purr.
