My Black Skin

take me as i am
don't be afraid of my black skin
i am wise i am smart i am sexy
but the best thing is...
i am free
my skin is shaded black
but my heart is the shade of platinum
i can live as other people do
i share your restroom...
i eat at the same places as you...
why cant you take me as i am
GOD is my father....
so who raised you
can you put on my shoes....
and walk with black feet...
as i so proudly do
you need to take me as i am
and don't be afraid of my black skin
