My Birthday

Start

This day returns again, my natal day
Memories of the past come alive
Thoughts go to all who have passed away
My parents who helped me arrive

My family is home to rejoice
It’s also a day to be forlorn
Though my birth was not my choice
Can’t foresee the end of my earthly sojourn

Today I set my dreams free to fly
To the haven of joy in a distant land
Where there’s no strife, no mothers cry
Everyone follows God’s command

Where the feeling of hatred is unknown
Denizens share love and coexist
Where there is no killing for the throne
No violence and use of the fist

In this land I wish to be born
To share my happiness with all
My life shouldn’t be a bed of thorn
With no friend to answer my call
