My Big World

My Big World

My world was never so big
then I looked for you
and you were gone
You walked into a thousand misty summers
and now
rooted to this spot
I wait
It's a private thing
Our secret, shared
in which all that is
and all that was
holds its breath
while I grieve
in my big world
where living without you
is like that hole you used to talk about
that could never be filled
a hole as big as the world
and as empty

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

Thankyou Anne Lise. I wrote this poem last year. It is about losing my daughter in 2008, your comments are much appreciated. Greta x
