My Best Friend

I’ve traveled the world looking for what
Searching from end to end
When there all along right where I am
I see you’ve always been there my friend

Through the good times and the bad
The sick, the ills and all the fun
I’m finding my search could have ended
Right where it had begun

You pick me up you set me down
You tell me the truth no one else dares
I try to reciprocate I try to be honest
But above all you are the one who cares

Forrest Gump said he and Jenny were peas in a pod
Well I’m the pod and you’re my pea
Thanks for staying true and wavering not
Thanks for always finding time for me

It's wonderful to have such a loyal and compassionate friend, Anthony. You're a very lucky fella. Some people search all their lives and still can't find someone this special. And it's so good of you to recognize this friend and give thanks. Great poem! Love, Carolyn
