My Best Friend

I wrote this poem in 2006 for a college writing assignment. The Lord Jesus is my friend. He is with me till the end. He makes my day a little brighter. He makes my load a little lighter. He keeps me safe and warm, And guides me through the storm. He knows what I am thinking, And I can count on him when I am hurting. He is never in a hurry, And with him, I never have to worry. I know he died for me, And opened my eyes so I can see. I can go to him with prayer, And I know he will always be there. He is my Lord, and will always be. He is the only one for me.
