My Beauties

With heads of little brown hair and four big blue eyes
I stare at you two from one set of eyes to another.
You smile your toothless smile and your eyes light up
Making me smile and forget the endless nights you two have caused me.
With four pairs of little legs I hear the patter of your feets in unison
and see the look of attack in your eyes.
Within an instant I'm attacked by two giggling infant girls.
After having my hair pulled in two directions and
my ears ringing from the surround sound of your cries.
I stand smiling down at my beauties, their heavy eyes closed
and turn around to glance at the tornado you two have left behind
and I take a deep breath.
The gods have blessed me with twice the fun or as they say double the trouble.
And tomorrow it will start over again.
Sleep tight my babies and dream of whatever dreams you have for I will always love
My beauties.
