My Barn
Now on with my yarn
About living in a barn
Paying rent
While living in a tent
A wood stove I ordered and got
Hopefully it keeps this barn nice and hot
Gathered my brother
Another son of my mother
Has special needs
Not one of the bad seeds
But another mouth the universe feeds
Now my dog and I and he
Makes three
Solar panels to give us light
But only when the sun is bright
A wood stove to cook
And be warm while I read a book
Ya'all should come by and take a look
Living in this old barn
And that is the topic of this yarn
You can hear my dogs happy woof
Saying thank you for the roof
Easier than living in the wild
Not many there so meek and mild
Everyone seemed to want to take
A living is hard to make
I never ask no one for a thing
Surviving on only what I bring
Looking for somewhere to stay
Each new day
That is a hard way
Now back to my yarn
About living in a barn
Sitting next to this fire
This is all I desire
Making my ol harmonica sing
Making this barn ring
Such a beautiful sound
Think my happy I have found
Least till something better comes around
Going to live the season here
For once a happy tear
A place to finish out the winter year
Too cold for spiders or any snake
Took a lot of work with a rake
Putting more wood in the fire
I sit back and admire
My nice clean dirty floor
Least it has a solid door
.....who could ask for more.....
