My Baby Girl

Right from the start You stole my heart It was love at first sight I was full of delight You were like no other The reason I was now a mother From the moment you were placed in my arm I promised to protect you from harm I would risk my life for you But I bet you already knew You were beautiful, perfect and oh so tiny But there were many nights when you were whiny For nine months I was oh so sick But you were worth every risk It took awhile for you to grow hair For months there was just peach fuzz there You cooed and you giggled You squirmed and you wiggled Your smile so bright You lit up the night Your eyes a beautiful shade of blue How could I resist the urge to hold you? My baby girl My whole world
