My Angels of the Freeway

I call them my angels of the freeway - the three good Samaritans that I met. Seeing me stranded, each stopped right away. I call them my angels of the freeway. Changing a tire for me, how kind were they! Three times I’ve been rescued and I’ll not forget. I call them my angels of the freeway - the three good Samaritans that I met. 12/3/2017 for the Good Samaritan Contest of Craig Hawkins

I liked this poem and recall a situation something like this that happened to me when my car broke down on the freeway when I was on my way to a flight. Because of this fellow who was an Angel I made my flight. He even cashed a check for me for $20. So I could get a cab the rest of the way! : )

I think you were helped because you are good looking sis. I've been on the interstate and had to change a tire twice, I even change a tire in the church parking lot, not one soul helped or even asked if I needed help. I guess I look tough enough to do it and have done it, but it sure would be nice to have someone just stop and ask me if I needed help.

If I look so good, why didn't I ever get off on ANY traffic tickets. Geeez, other women get off, and I act really nice to the cops and don't give any back talk to them. Anyway, next time I get a flat , nobody may stop. I don't look the same as ten years ago. haha

Yes, you do look very capable because you ARE. I bet you can easily change tires. I can't even use an electric can opener!!

Hi Andrea, Good title and heartfelt content. It is so good to know that "real" life angels are in the world. This looks like a winner to me . I wish you the best of luck in the contest:-) Alexis

It sure conjures up memories of my younger days when I would hitch hike. I always was grateful for those who were willing to stop and give me a ride. Well written.,

There are some good people out there. A stranger once saved my life. I was about to go to doctor when all of a sudden I couldn't walk. It was starting rain and I thought it was the end. A stranger stopped his car and said "Are you O.K. I said " No I'm not". He flagged down a livery car which took me down the block to the doctors for $6. I got treated there and after a few months of rehab came home. Sincerely yours Matthew Anish

And we love those angels, not to be taken for granted...to be always grateful! An act of kindness echoes through the universe! Nice triolet!
