My Allegiance I Vow

To my terra of roots
my allegiance I vow
I wallow in your fruits
and to your flag I bow.

Dream not till wake of dawn
beaming sun light I wait
burst of glee of no bourn
the feels of the soul, sate.

Awe chills into my spine
as your Hymn in pride sung
for Home in peace I pine
and love never be swung.

How could my pen, you turn
in a fine rhyming word
as my quill longs to learn
inking with grace and verve.

A patriotic Soul my dearest friend. Your first four lines say it all. Sadly we had to leave the land of our roots, but we are grateful to the land that accepted us. Our memories will always be ones we treasure though, and reminisce on at family gatherings. A beautiful poem dearest Soul....Maria Hugs

Your write has such pride and love for your country - 'to my terra of roots, my allegiance I vow, I wallow in your fruits, and to your flag I bow' - what heartwarming sentiments my dear dear friend. I cried when South Africa won the world cup - Africa is the land I love. All my love and hugs, Jenny.

A patriotic poem, i am happy you love your country so much.. i am not a nationalist though and do not agree with the history of the racist British empire, so struggle to be patriotic.... this is a great poem..
