My Alexis
Alexis
by Dalene Rowe
Imagine looking into the eyes of a stranger for the first time and losing your soul
It’s a feeling that shakes your perception of existence as whole
The first day I felt you move, I knew that God was not a myth or parable, but a fact
It was like feeling your thoughts, ideas and imagination pulled into tact
I wish I could bottle the feeling that goes with hearing your voice for the first time
Incoherent, no words, just a cry…a beautiful sound,
Complete with the knowledge that you are amazingly mine.
I know, I know…just borrowed from above.
But dear Heavens, were you sent with love.
So often I stare in your beautiful face,
Your one dimpled smile and then feeling your loving embrace…
You made me proud from the day I knew you were on your way
And you still do, every single day.
Love you big much babygirl.
