Musical Therapy
Musical thoughts consume my brain
Beautiful melodies keeping me sane
Half notes and whole notes play in my head
Harmonious playing keeps me from seeing red
Blood pressure goes up as if in crescendo
Sweet sounds of music lower it as in decrescendo
Your words constantly peck at my mental like staccato
I notice how you’re always trying to control the tempo
Like a dal segno al fine, I’m going to end this
I refuse to repeat myself, this is not a musical bis
I turn up the volume and hear the steady rhythms
Saxes, snares, cellos, and violins
The richness of the composition steadies my pulse
With music my therapy, I need nothing else!
