Music Premiere Contest Winner

Music is a sweet spring shower for romantics. For the weary, it is a soothing stream flowing sublimely through one’s soul. It is a pond or lake, reflecting joy. For those in search of thrills, its waves pound frenetically to lighthouse strobe lights across an ocean’s roar in the night. Like water, music takes many different forms. Find your pleasure; let it wash over you! For Geraldine Taylor's the 'Poetry Anthology - Music Theme' Poetry Contest

I see you won a gold medal for this! This is a great way to perceive music in its many incarnations throughout our life and our many moods. Water is a great metaphor, because it too has many incarnations and distinct effects upon our soul. A beauty and a fave.

This poem is fluid like music, and as you mentioned, water. Nice comparison that you made.

Love this sis. To me your poetry is very much like music and wish to see your words to a song that is popular with everyone up on the top of the music billboards.

Beautiful poem Andrea. Would like to set my poems to music. My downstairs computer is still out. Not sure if it died or what is wrong but waiting for Kerry to come look at it to decide if we need a new one. Just have the lap top and missing the programs on the computer. love phyl

Sounds like "follow your bliss" as Joseph Campbell used to say. My father set 8 of my poems to music and one of my nephews set one of my poems to rock and roll. Peace & Love Matthew Anish

It was so soft and sweet and slow and easy, and then you jazzed it up fast with "for those in search of thrills." I liked how it ran fast after that.

I love the way you describe music as a liquid that flows "through one's soul." Never thought of it this way, but it is an excellent analogy. Wishing you success in Vermillion's contest! (Yes, the seahorse poem is based on a true event.) Hugs, Carolyn
